Here are a few of our favourite Tastesmiths recipes to get you in the mood…

 

Chicken/Veggie Korma Masala

Included with the Tastesmith kit: Ginger, garlic, green chillies, fresh curry leaves, creamed coconut, ground almonds, whole spices and freshly ground spices.

You’ll also need: 1 onion, 2 fresh tomatoes OR half a can of tinned, 400-500g chicken (or for a veggie suggestion 1 can of chickpeas, one sweet potato and one red pepper, plus 1-2 tbsp oil, 2-3tbsp milk/yoghurt/cream and 1 tsp salt.

Goan Fish/Prawn Curry

Included with the Tastesmith kit: Ginger, garlic, green chillies, fresh curry leaves, creamed coconut, whole spices and freshly ground spices.

You’ll also need: 1 onion, 2-3 fresh tomatoes OR half a can of chopped and 250g of shelled raw prawns OR 350g of any firm fish. If using fish and prawns, use no more than 400g all together. 1-2 tbsp oil, 1/2 – 1tsp salt, a squeeze of lemon/lime.

Chicken/Veggie Balti Masala

Included with the Tastesmith kit: Ginger, garlic, chillies, Indian bay leaf, cassia, dried methi and freshly ground spices including mustard seed.

You’ll also need: 1 onion, 200ml passata OR half a can of tomatoes, 1 tbsp tomato puree, 400-500g chicken (or for a veggie suggestion 1-2 cans of chickpeas and 2 waxy potatoes) and stir-fried vegetables (peppers, onions, mushrooms) to add at the end of cooking.
